York Woods Library and Theatre Renovation
Renovation of the 42,000 sf library and theatre, and construction of a 2,000 sf two-storey transparent atrium. Elements of the exterior of the facility were restored/ repaired, and the mechanical and electrical systems were upgraded.
The performing arts centre was revitalized with renovated dressing rooms, removal of the orchestra pit, new wood flooring for the stage, carpet replacement in the auditorium, replacement of the seat upholstery, new cyclorama curtain, acoustic reflector panels, lighting, and a comprehensive sound system.
Vertical circulation was improved in the 1970s library with a new amphitheatre staircase. Both the first and second floors were completed renovated, in addition to areas of the lower level of the library.
