Environment

Sustainability is becoming more prominent in a world where we try to preserve what we have now, for the future. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally recognized green building rating system, which recognizes that sustainability should be at the core of all buildings, in their design, construction and operation.

BDA Inc. has been involved in the LEED process since 2007, through a Construction Management project for the Ontario Collaboration Centre (renamed the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre) at the Eaton Centre. We have undertaken several LEED projects, in addition to other projects for clients with specific environmental requirements.

BDA is proud to have been involved with the recent renovation of areas within Metro Hall. Here we recycled over 80% of our demolition waste, and received a Certificate of Environmental Stewardship for recycling over 30,000 lb of carpet.

As a General Contractor, we cannot often influence the environmental impact of a project. We are however, familiar with methods to increase the sustainability of our operations, and will implement these where possible, in conjunction with our clients.
