Work for this challenging addition and renovation, located at York University’s Seneca@York campus, consisted of selective demolition and a challenging installation of complex structural steel in an occupied facility, where effective dust control was a priority. A new dance/yoga studio with sprung wood flooring was constructed over the existing fitness centre, an OMNI sport running floor product installed on the elevated running track and a gym drop tile installed in the lower fitness area. Work included concrete foundation and slab, fire-spray, new staircase railing, drywall partitions and ceilings, glazed walls, mechanical (HVAC and controls work, new RTU) and electrical.
