BDA’s President, Lewis Cowan, Chair of the OGCA, represented ICI General Contractors at the OGCA’s Advocacy Day on November 21 at Queens Park in Toronto. Three issues were raised – the need to modernize Ontario’s immigration policy focussing on in-demand construction industry jobs, standardize procurement processes on public projects removing overly burdensome conditions, and safety standardization to protect the public on municipal and provincial projects. Meetings were held with contractors, industry leaders and Cabinet Ministers throughout the day, culminating in a well-attended reception for MPPs and Ministers.
